“I start with an idea, but rarely does the finished painting mirror the image I started with. Once a painting is begun, it immediately takes on a life of its own; a dialogue ensues between the work in progress and myself. In a sense, I’ve already become an observer in front of it. When I’m painting, most of the painting process is not painting.
My hope is that my paintings will draw you into a new space.”
